Description

Bolder is on a mission to change perceptions about growing older. Ageing is a constant for all of us, every minute, every hour, every day. And ... gasp, it can be fun. This book captures a journey to find people aged 70 and older who are still creating, inspiring, or working, and who make old age look like a great place to be. One of the stories features a woman who fell in love and married aged 82. Another features a man who swims a mile in the Mediterranean Sea every morning, aged 85. All of the interviewees featured are engaged with and excited by the world around them. And so many of them cite the happiest age of their lives as now, not then.

Reviews

Containing not only stunning photographs but also interesting stories, this book will make you contemplate your life and perhaps philosophise. Inspiring and positive without being saccharine. --Elisa, Book Grocer

Author description

Dominique Afacan has been editing luxury lifestyle magazines for over ten years. For the last four years, she’s been based in London as a freelancer, but she also spent half a decade working as an editorial director in Hong Kong, as well as doing stints in New York and Milan. Her chosen niche of luxury travel has found her racing sailing yachts in St Barths, kayaking amidst humpback whales in Antarctica and falling over repeatedly in Courchevel.

Helen Cathcart is an experienced lifestyle photographer with a passion for food, travel and interiors. Over the course of her career, she’s ridden with gauchos across Patagonia, hung out of helicopters in the Seychelles and driven across vast deserts – all in the name of that perfect shot. The likes of Yotam Ottolenghi, Tom Kerridge and countless other top chefs are no stranger to her lens – and her work is coveted and commissioned by the likes of Conde Nast Traveller, Vogue Russia, House and Garden and Australian Gourmet Traveller. Helen is also the co-founder of Bolder, a project championing inspirational people over the age of 70.
